About Us

Maplecrest Elementary School has been a proud part of the Lebanon R-III School District since 1950, serving as a cornerstone of education and community for generations of Yellowjackets.

Our Beginnings

In 1950, kindergarten officially became part of the public school program in Lebanon, marking an important milestone in the District’s history. That same year, Maplecrest Elementary was built on Maple Lane to meet the growing educational needs of the community. The school originally served students in grades K–6 and quickly became a vibrant hub for families across Lebanon.

In the 1983–1984 school year, Maplecrest was restructured as a second- and third-grade building, reflecting the district’s efforts to better align facilities with the evolving needs of students.

Growth & Transformation

As Lebanon has grown, so has Maplecrest. The campus has seen multiple renovations and additions designed to modernize learning spaces and enhance safety. In 2019, a major project added a new gymnasium/safe room, performance stage, and expanded commons/cafeteria area, totaling more than 10,000 square feet.

Most recently, Phase Two of construction was completed in July 2025, adding eight brand-new classrooms totaling nearly 10,000 square feet. This expansion supports the school’s growing enrollment and eliminates the need for mobile classrooms, ensuring that every student has a safe, comfortable, and engaging place to learn.
